Why can’t Highland import my PDF?

From Mac to Windows to Linux, there are hundreds of apps that create PDFs, and some of them make unusual choices when encoding the file.

We’ve focussed on getting great results with PDFs generated by the most popular screenwriting applications, including:

  • Final Draft
  • Movie Magic Screenwriter
  • Celtx
  • Fade In

Some PDFs are essentially photos of pages. Highland has no built-in optical character recognition (OCR), so there may be no text to work with. But don’t despair: third-party OCR apps can often come to the rescue.
